Are you a school music teacher looking to inspire your students and their families with the magic of live music?
Apply to the Vancouver Youth Choir School Concert Bursary Program.
Successful schools will receive:
- FREE Concert Tickets to a VYC concert for your students and their parents.
- A fun, engaging concert experience for students of ANY level at renowned concert venues across the city.
- FREE bus transportation to and from your school to the concert for your students and parents, making it easy for everyone to attend.
Apply together – submit applications as a class or group, making it easy for everyone to attend.

Elementary School Performances
Bring the internationally acclaimed Vancouver Youth Choir to perform a FREE concert at your school.
In May 2024, VYC is touring to elementary schools across the lower mainland with an interactive 45 min show that involves an eclectic range of music, lots of laughs, and many opportunities for audience participation.
- Live Performance: The Vancouver Youth Choir is renowned for their engaging, unpretentious programming. Your students will be inspired!
- Interactive Music: A VYC performance isn't just a show; it's an interactive learning experience. We'll have your students singing along, and participating!
- Educational and Fun: We combine fun and artistry to create a unique experience that your students will cherish. They'll learn about the power of music while having a blast.
If you have your own school choir, there will also be an opportunity to discuss having them to join in the performance as well.
Please note that concerts will take place during the school day.

Indigenous Singing & Drumming Series
In spring of 2024, the Vancouver Youth Choir will be sponsoring artistic residencies for 4-5 elementary schools in the Lower Mainland. The residencies would offer an opportunity for a class to learn about Indigenous music and culture with Indigenous leaders.
The residencies would include four 45-minute workshops for a class over the course of two weeks. Residencies are Indigenous-led, and include some or all of the following:
- Learning about Indigenous culture and ways of thinking
- Storytelling and sharing
- Learning and singing traditional and/or newly composed songs
- Drumming and learning about Indigenous drum care and respect
- Improvisation and song creating
This program is in development, and more information will be available in the coming months.
